Got introduced to Magic by my cousin, who gifted me a pile of Mirrodin cards. I figured out the game using the rulebook that came with the gift (and got really confused by “regenerate”). Years later, I picked the game back up during Theros Beyond Death in Magic’s timeline, when some friends invited me to play with the preconstructed “Game Night” decks. I played some EDH with that group, but my competitive nature from sports led me to start playing 1v1 Magic (Draft).
